I suspect the resoan many are applying at 62 are due to the fact that so many lost there jobs and are forced to make the decision that lower income is better than no income once their unemployment ran out.National news has reported many times that 55+ are the highest demographic of not being able to get jobs in this economy. Even Suzie Orman reports on her weekly show that more and more people are finding their retirement accounts are just not surviving when people are out of work for multiple years with no income and no job opportunities.I suspect we will see the number of multiple generations sharing a home increasing in the next few years as more and more find that they do not have the funds in their retirement accounts (after losing so much of it in the stock market) to survive on their own. Those who were in their 50s when the stock market crashed just won’t have the time to get it back especially when they are forced to use it now instead of when they planned to retire.
